The Delaware Pest Control Association had its humble beginnings nearly a half-
century ago.  One of its founding father’s, Dr. Dale Bray, was instrumental in
the formation of the association.  But he was more than that.  He was a vital
part of the entire Delaware pest control industry.  His guidance, assistance,
and influence were outshone only by his kindness and devotion.  Dale Bray
touched many individuals.  It was on his suggestion that I looked to the pest
control industry and made it my career.   Few surpassed Dale’s intelligence;
yet he never made one feel uncomfortable.  He never lectured; he only shared
information. His desire to help and his ability to inspire stood alone.

The 2002 Delaware Pest Control Short Course was dedicated to Dale.  But the
Board of Directors of our association wished to do more.   An endowment fund
in Dale’s honor was established.   The fund is self-supporting with the initial
goal of providing a yearly scholarship for an undergraduate intending to pursue
a career in urban pest management.  We had a 5-year time table to reach this
goal.  However; we reached it in only 3 years!

Increased regulations and changes in technology are making our industry
more complex with each passing day.  We look at this as a way to ensure that
the next generation of pest management professionals is equipped to handle
whatever comes along.  Won’t you help us to help them Please take a moment
to fill out the attached sheet and in so doing, plant the seeds of success for the
future of our industry while paying tribute to one of its founding fathers
